I’m Blair Miller, an architectural and landscape designer. I run House + Ground, a Wairarapa-based practice that specialises in new builds, renovations and landscaping for residential properties.

Why House + Ground? It’s because a home is not just a house: it’s the grounds that surround it, too. I work with clients on projects ranging from individual rooms right up to new residential builds, along with elegant landscaping.

When you’re ready to design your new home or plan some renovations, we work collaboratively through each step, from initial concept drawings right up to documentation for council consents. This ensures you come away with a design you love - and one that is ready to be built.

I am a registered Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) for Design with extensive experience in new builds, renovations and landscape design. House + Ground can work with you to create your dream home and landscape.

House + Ground operates predominantly in the Wairarapa and Wellington regions, but I also work with clients in Auckland, Wellington & Tauranga.

Architectural + Landscape Design Services

New Builds

As an architectural and landscape designer, my role is to consider the whole picture. That means initial drawings right up to council consent sign-offs, and making sure the home and its surroundings work together.

Renovations

There are plenty of reasons to renovate your existing home, but it’s always best to start with a detailed plan - and that’s where I come in. As an architectural designer, I create designs that meet your goals, stand the test of time, and - importantly - match the character of the house.

Landscaping

The secret to great landscaping? Time. Landscape design has to work in four dimensions - it’s not just how it looks now, but how it’s going to look over time. Landscaping is about more than gardens - it’s a vision for the grounds of your home and the environment it sits within.
